Gardens are the ideal places to get out into the fresh air and meet with friends and family in a safely managed environment. With 360 gardens to visit there’s something for everyone and more often than not, these places are family and dog friendly, with lots to explore of the great outdoors. I have picked my top 5 which look to be the most local to Yorkshire / Derbyshire and worth visiting with children and dogs:

1. Thornbridge Hall and Gardens - I recently posted about this on my Facebook group and has a lot to offer for families and all dog friendly. With beautiful gardens to explore, lawn games for children and even 'hook a duck' in the fountains - its sure to be worth the 241 entry. Dogs on leads welcome. Cafe and toilets.

Listed as one of Britains most inspiring Spring gardens it is designed around a spectacular landscape with a ruined corn mill, old quarry, canal, cliff and stream. There is a cafe and shop on site. Dogs on leads welcome.
